Spring Time means Flowers, Flowers, and more Flowers

Spring is a season when homeowners spring clean the inside of their homes but what about the outside. The outside of your home is the first impression for all visitors and yourself.

When you drive up to your home what do you see or how do you feel? Do you feel disgusted or sad?  It is time to spruce up the outside of your home with beautiful flowers.

Before you start your project here are a couple of tips to get you started.

Pick Your Spot

Decide where you want to plant your garden. Try to choose a spot with lots of sun.

Clean Up Your Area

Remove any grass or weeds including roots. Use an herbicide or a weed blocker to keep weeds from growing between your flowers. If you use a weed killer make sure you read and follow all directions.

Soil

Choose which type of soil you would like to use. At your local home improvement they have different types of soils to choose from. I like the organic matter personally.

What to plant

This is the fun part. There are so many pretty flowers to choose from like Annuals and Perennials. Annuals do not tolerate frost and transplant with have better results if planted in warm soil. Perennials can be planted early in the spring and they can be planted in the fall as well.  Check with your local home improvement store for more information.

Start falling back in love with your home by starting with the outside.
